The planned expansion of wind power on the North and Baltic Seas has raised great hopes for new industrialization in the coastal regions because the wind industry has great demand in many sectors. For example, cable producers could do a good deal, explains Carsten Lehmköster from the network operator Amprion, who still sees great demand for connecting offshore wind farms: “The market for offshore cables will be sold empty by 2032,” he reports.
