German FAZ: Farewell to the world car008021

The “New Class” electric cars are the great hope for BMW. Eight models, packed with the latest technology, are expected to be sold almost everywhere in the world in two years. BMW builds electric cars for the American car market in the Mexican factory in San Luis Potosí. AESC will supply the state-of-the-art batteries from a new factory in the US state of South Carolina. Not only do they have the powerful 800-volt architecture for more range and fast charging, but thanks to their design they are particularly advantageous in the flat sedan and station wagon versions. The BMW board led by chairman Oliver Zipse has planned all of this for a long time, and so far everything is going as planned.
