More than 300 employees of car dealerships and car workshops demonstrated on Wednesday with a car corso through Frankfurt for higher wages. They followed a call from the IG Metall union to the warning strike. According to a union spokesman, around 100 vehicles with 300 to 350 inmates took part in the protest trip. The Autokorso started the former Neckermann area on Hanauer Landstrasse and then drove through the city center to the Mainz Landstrasse to Praunheim, where a final rally was planned at the seat of the guild of the car trade for Frankfurt and the Main-Taunus district. The strike participation in the car dealerships of Mercedes, BMW and Audi was particularly high. According to the union, around 30,0,000 employees are active in the vehicle trade in Hesse. In the current tariff round, IG Metall demands an increase in fees by 6.5 percent and for trainees 170 euros more per month. The union criticized the union in a first conversation with the collective bargaining community of the Hessian motor vehicle industry in March, the union criticized. The previous collective agreements expired on March 31, which ended the obligation to peace. The IG Metall also called for other districts to warning strikes. The new car business weakened car-state association Hessen, which belongs to around 4,300 car dealerships and workshops, had spoken of a “deep in the new registrations” at its annual press conference in mid-March. The new car market had already shrunk last year, but the sales of used cars and the business with repairs and other services had grown. Overall, the past year had brought “satisfactory sales development, but unsatisfactory earnings situation”, the association said. The negotiator of IG Metall Mitte, Josef Windpassinger, argues because of the high level of utilization of the workshops, many employees overtime. “This must also be reflected in the remuneration of the employees.” More on the subject
