Friday evening in a small inn in Frankfurt. As always, the regulars’ table in the corner of the wood -paneled tavern is well occupied. Men around the sixty, some older, a disciple. Much younger. More precisely, one that has been icon and status symbol for decades: the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The angular classic with a military legacy, terrain winner and an aura of indestructibility and exclusivity. But the G-Class has changed. And this change drives a trench between the generations.
