German FAZ: The holiday program in Taunus009626

Another three days of school, then the summer holidays begin. At the latest in these six free weeks, everyone in the metropolitan region, which has a heart for trunk animals, will break into the Taunus. Because there, in the Opel Zoo in Kronberg, Kaja has been seen since mid-June. The birth of the elephant calf on May 27 was a sensation – the young animal has been the first elephant baby in Hesse for around 57 years. Together with Mother Kariba, Kaja can now be observed regularly in the elephant house. The Kimia network giraffe was born in March, but still small. A visit to the giraffe house or on the outdoor enclosure, which the giraffes share with other residents of the African savannah, is also worth it.
