German Manager Magazin: Mercedes, Volkswagen, Conti: How about the crisis? The Manage: Mobility Live Talk004350

The European auto industry is deep in the crisis, the half -year numbers are showing it again. Electric cars can usually only be sold with a discount and then bring mini gain or even loss. Development expenses are increasing massively, saving everywhere. Volkswagen and ZF Friedrichshafen, Mercedes and Continental: The reasons are different, but all groan. Even the long -time Sparkönig Stellantis, home of brands such as Jeep, Chrysler, Peugeot and Opel suddenly writes loss.

One of the most important managers of Stellantis and previously at Renault was Uwe Hochschurtz (62) for many years. He was responsible for the German business by October 2024 of Stellantis, previously Opel boss and at Renault. Before that, he worked in management functions at Ford and Volkswagen. In short: the man knows the European car industry like only a few others. He is currently advising at various points outside the car industry.

In our talk format “Manage: Mobility Live” for subscribers to the manager of the manager magazine, Uwe Hochschurtz will also answer the questions that you send us before and during the talk on Monday, August 4, 2025, 6 p.m. He will explain where the problems of suppliers and car manufacturers are in detail, how dangerous the rivals from China are, where mistakes were made – and where there are still chances.
