The good news for fans of affordable mobility with a dash of joie de vivre: Seat will not be discontinued or thrown back to the level of a fig leaf seller, but will be allowed to continue building cars. The Spanish brand is even getting a fresh engine. The reconsideration within the Volkswagen Group is of course also due to the harsh reality that customers are not switching to electromobility as planned and there is also a price area that needs to be defended that Chinese manufacturers would otherwise threaten to occupy. The successful sports offshoot Cupra obviously can’t handle everything. This could have been known earlier instead of leaving the brand open to speculation, but now it is what it is.
