German FAZ: Billing starts at 010281

Škoda from the Czech Republic, once taken under its wing by Volkswagen shortly after reunification, has long since established itself on the German car market. With a good 165,000 new registrations in the first three quarters of 2025, the brand from Mlada Boleslav is in fourth place in Germany. Only parent VW, BMW and Mercedes-Benz sell more cars. The Czechs’ showpiece is traditionally the mid-range model Octavia, but the large, 4.76 meter long SUV Kodiaq is already in second place in the internal ranking. The Kodiaq is named after the Kodiak bear from northern America.
