On the side doors the color changes completely to bright gold. The way the current version of the well-known luxury model from Mercedes stands on the car manufacturer’s campus in the Stuttgart suburb of Vaihingen appears to be both a manifesto and a self-assurance. Luxury is dead, long live luxury. In other words: Even after abandoning its heavily criticized luxury strategy, the traditional company from Baden-Württemberg continues to rely on expensive and noble cars – and aims to build the best in the world.
