In connection with the so-called truck cartel, Deutsche Bahn claims compensation of around half a billion euros. This sum would have paid the railway, the Bundeswehr and other companies including interest due to the price fixing of the manufacturer too much, the group said on Sunday. A corresponding claim will be filed with the district court of Munich. External experts would have calculated the sum in a present opinion. Earlier, the “Bild am Sonntag” reported on it.

The German Armed Forces and 40 other companies “from all areas of the German economy” would have ceded their claims to the railway, according to the statement. “DB Group and the Bundeswehr have procured thousands of trucks during the cartel period.” The truck manufacturers should take their responsibility. “We are open to an amicable solution and we offered all participants in the cartel the opportunity to talk,” said the Deutsche Bahn.

Because of the formation of the cartel, the European Commission imposed fines totaling almost four billion euros in 2016 and 2017. According to their findings, the truck manufacturers had MAN Show stock market chart, Daimler Show stock market chart, Volvo Show stock market chart/ Renault Show stock market chart, DAF, Iveco and Scania Show stock market chart From 1997 to 2011 information was exchanged among each other about prices.
