A small hand movement from Lewis Hamilton, and the Formula 1 driver market almost comes to a standstill. With his signature under the contract extension at Mercedes, the door in the Silver Arrow team closes until the end of 2025. The combination of the record world champion and young teammate George Russell is considered by the racing team to be the “best” pilot line-up in the paddock. Ferrari may doubt its holy of holies on four wheels, but not its drivers. McLaren feels well positioned, as do Alpine, Alfa Romeo and Haas.
